“WHAT SHE SAID” SERIES

Have you ever listened to a speaker, read a blog post, article and book and resonated so much with the truth communicated that you knew you couldn’t say it better and you wanted to exclaim, “What she said!”

God has encouraged and inspired me by gifted communicators, many of whom I have never met. After reading their work, I often sit back and exclaim, “What she said!” I’m delighted to introduce some of them to you through the devotional series "What She Said". We are kicking off this theme as a summer series and then periodically we will introduce you to other writers in between new devotional series. Each writer brings a unique style but shared passion in proclaiming the help and hope of the Gospel through their writing and speaking. I suspect that you know many of them through studying their books or following their blogs.

If you are encouraged by these devotions - LET’S CONNECT! Use this LINK and share your comment, and as a token of our appreciation you will be entered into a monthly drawing for a special thank you gift.

Here are this series guest writers who will offer you encouragement each morning:

She enjoys serving in her local church and considers it a privilege to share the hope of Jesus by working side by side with our MARKINC team.

Judie Puckett serves as the Director of Spiritual Formation for Women at Chapelgate Presbyterian Church (CPC) in Marriottsville, Maryland, where her husband also serves as an Elder. She and Aaron have three wonderful children that they absolutely love hanging out with. Their family lives on a small farm where they raise cattle and spoil two dogs. Currently she is working alongside both pastors and women leaders in the PCA to further an environment of collaboration and partnership in ministry. She is passionate about seeing men and women co-labor in the Kingdom, and she is helping churches develop ministries to care for their women in crisis. In addition to serving at Chapelgate, Judie enjoys teaching and speaking at women’s retreats and conferences. She is passionate about connecting the mind and the heart – beautiful doctrine and ignited passion. She also believes that the Community of Faith is one of God’s greatest gifts to His people. Patsy Kuipers often refers to herself as “Gardening Grammie,” a title encompassing two of her favorite pastimes. Widowed at age 38, she was blessed to be gainfully employed for all the years she spent raising two daughters on her own. When her job was eliminated several years ago, she returned to school to study horticulture, a passion born of caring for the garden her husband left as part of his legacy. Patsy is Grammie to three young but enthusiastic garden helpers. She enjoys teaching them about plants and the One who created them. She is a member of Grace Covenant Church in Dallas, GA where she serves on the Women’s Ministry Committee and leads women’s Bible studies. Patsy started her blog, Back 2 the Garden (patsykuipers.com), to tell others of God’s great love and faithfulness. In 2020, she realized a long-time dream when she compiled some of the lessons she’s learned in her garden into a book, “Be Still, Quiet Moments With God in My Garden.”

Heidi Nequist is married to Greg and together they have five children and one grandchild. Heidi and her family are the founders of Muddy Boots Horse Farm and Rescue in Warwick, Maryland where they reside. Their mission is to help broken horses who will, in turn, help broken humans. Heidi is a Realtor, licensed in three states, and one of the team leaders for her business. Heidi grew up in the church which led her to many different places where she used her faith to minister to all different people. Loss, hurting people, grief, pain, anger, bitterness, and then hope and joy are the things that just made sense to Heidi because of the people she walked with through their pain, and also through her own. Working through the process of understanding that her relationship with Jesus was personal, and not because of a church building, took a long time; but has proven to continue to be that thing that brings internal joy, despite all other circumstances. Heidi is the daughter of Chuck and Sharon Betters
