Proverbs 31:26
Dear Friends,
Have you ever listened to a speaker, read a blog post, article, or book, and resonated so much with the truth communicated that you knew you couldn’t say it better and you wanted to exclaim, “What she said!”
God has encouraged and inspired me by such messages, shared by many of whom I have never met. I’m delighted to introduce some of them to you through the devotional series, What She Said! This week our guest writer is Sarah Ivill, a very busy wife, mom, writer, and speaker.
Sarah Ivill, who has a ThM from Dallas Theological Seminary, is the author of Bible studies and books, including The Covenantal Life: Appreciating the Beauty of Theology and Community. She is a wife, mother to four children, Bible study teacher, and conference speaker living in Matthews, North Carolina, and is a Christ Covenant Church (PCA) member. Sarah will lead us in an overview of the six Psalms of Ascent. I love her choice of Scripture since I committed to memorizing several of them as prayers for our children, grandchildren, and church. Psalm 121 is especially meaningful to me since it is the Psalm I regularly prayed for our little granddaughter, Siddhi, as she clung to life in India while her parents pursued adoption. Let Sarah’s words sink into your heart as she helps turn our hearts to the beautiful truths in these precious Psalms. To learn more about Sarah, visit her website: www.sarahivill.com.
Treasured by Him,
Sharon
LIFE-GIVING ENCOURAGEMENT
Help prepare your heart for this week’s devotionals by reading through Psalms 120 – 126. Imagine the Israelites singing these songs while on pilgrimage, preparing their hearts to worship. Pick out a Psalm that is especially meaningful to you and soak in those words. Ask the Lord to encourage your heart to not only trust Him but to display His love and character through you, to a broken world in desperate need of peacemakers and messengers of reconciliation.
