Meet Douglas Clarke
Douglas Clarke serves as the Executive Director of MARKINC Ministries, where he brings together pastoral compassion, clinical experience, and a deep commitment to helping hurting people find lasting hope in Christ. With a heart for those walking through grief, addiction, abuse, and spiritual struggles, Douglas is passionate about equipping people with biblical truth and practical resources for life’s hardest seasons.
Douglas has more than a decade of experience working in the correctional, substance abuse, and mental health treatment fields. His background includes executive leadership, program development, clinical counseling, financial oversight, and operations management. Throughout his career, he has focused on building programs and ministries that combine compassionate care with gospel-centered truth.
A certified advanced alcohol and drug counselor through the Delaware Certification Board, Douglas also serves as Campus Chaplain at Bowling Green Treatment Center in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, where he developed and oversees a distinctly Christian faith-based treatment track. His ministry reflects a strong conviction that true and lasting transformation is found through the hope and healing of Jesus Christ.
Douglas is licensed to preach in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) and holds a Bachelor of Science in Religion and a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Liberty University. He is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity degree at Westminster Theological Seminary.
He is also the author of Freedom from Substances: Ending Addiction through the Gospel, a resource that points readers to the transforming power of grace and the freedom found in Christ.
At MARKINC Ministries, Douglas works alongside Dr. Chuck and Sharon Betters to continue the ministry’s mission of providing biblical help and hope to people facing suffering, loss, and life’s unexpected challenges. He is especially committed to developing resources and outreach efforts that speak honestly into brokenness while pointing people to the sufficiency of Christ.
Douglas and his wife, Danielle, are raising their five children — Anthony, Chloe, Zeke, Jake, and Amelia — with a desire to build a family centered on faith, grace, and the hope of the Gospel. They are looking forward to welcoming another daughter in the fall of 2026.
Douglas often reminds others that hope is never lost because true hope is found in Jesus.
Hope is never lost—because hope is found in Jesus.
