Dave Dravecky’s story is one of finding hope, courage and perseverance in the midst of dark and overwhelming uncertainty. In 1988, he was at the top of his game and his life, only to receive the diagnosis of cancer in his pitching arm.  He came back a year later to defy the odds, but his comeback was short-lived. Five days later, he threw “the pitch that could be heard round the world” when his arm had split in two. As he tumbled to the ground, his mind filled with doubt and fear.

The cancer had returned, treatment required extensive amputation for fear the cancer would spread and take his life. Little did he know that the loss of his childhood dream would become a platform to share hope with the suffering around the world. These lessons showed him how to navigate loss and suffering, and how to experience encouragement and hope. Come hear Dave, and his wife Jan, tell their story of how their faith gave them the strength to overcome depression, restore their marriage and find purpose after losing their identity.
