When tragedy invades... how do you respond? Life crisis are events that often blind side us, causing you to question and doubt.
Our guest speaker Marie Monville ~ “When all other lights go out, He still shines!” This became the anthem to Marie's life when on October 2, 2006, her then husband made a decision to hold an Amish school house hostage, forever changing life as she knew it. This is Marie’s testimony, forged while moving through unthinkable circumstances, into the unfathomable love of the Father. On her darkest day, Marie simply chose to believe that HE IS. This act of faith radically propelled her into a future she could not have hoped for or imagined. In the years since, God continues to unfold his beautiful plan of redemption and restoration over her family.
Marie, author of, One Light Still Shines, reveals three love stories: the innocent love of a devoted wife for a husband in pain, the incomprehensible love of God in the aftermath of massacre and destruction, and the redemptive love of Christ, waiting to unfold in the life of every person who reads this book. Marie’s journey since that darkest of days has been invaded with light which shines through these pages into the darkest questions we all face–questions about our past, our value, our identity, and own powerlessness in this fallen world. Come face to face with the Power behind every answer—a love that begs to be received.
Marie ministers the truth of God’s love: it is deep enough to heal any wound, strong enough to break all bondage, and it brings life to the broken and light to those in darkness. She will inspire you to dive deep into a passionate LOVE relationship with God, which will transform your life and flow through you to impact all you encounter. Marie and her husband, Dan, live in Lancaster County, PA, with their 6 children. They traveled to South Africa in July 2015, where they adopted their son. Marie is passionate about adoption, and shares this through her ministry. She graduated from the School of Ministry (Christ Community Church, Camp Hill, PA) in 2012.
Recording artist, Caitlin Jane ~ A rising voice on the music stage has a unique presence—offering not only amazing gifts of poetic songwriting and performance, but delivering with these a passionate message of hope in a broken world. “The emotion in her music and depth of her lyrics make Caitlin Jane one of the most gripping Christian artists today,” commented Ray Ruddy (President, Gerard Health Foundation/Life Prizes). Her stirring debut EP, Ashes into Beauty, launched Caitlin into the music scene in 2007. Caitlin Jane’s sophomore album, Coming Season, unlocked an even greater maturity in her songwriting and vocal ability. Touring nationally and internationally, Caitlin Jane has opened for renowned artists including Todd Agnew and BarlowGirl, and has performed at a wide variety of venues.
In recent years, Caitlin Jane has walked an unexpected journey and has received a second chance at life. In June 2014, she was diagnosed with a brain tumor that was considered inoperable by several of the most renowned neurosurgeons in the U.S. However, it was a series of providential events which led her to the only surgeon in the country who could safely remove the tumor and restore her to a healthy life. Just two months after surgery, Caitlin’s soon-to-be fiancé, and now husband, Jamie, was diagnosed with cancer. All they could do was trust the Lord, once again, placing their lives and future in His sovereign hands.
“Music transcends the barriers we encounter when communicating truth and faith,” Caitlin Jane shares, “If I want to be authentic, then Christ must be at the center of everything.” The great Russian novelist, Dostoevsky, penned the simple, yet profound statement, “Beauty will save the world.” This has embodied the very essence of Caitlin Jane’s mission—using the beautiful things in music, media and art to worship Jesus Christ.
