The What and the Why
Our vision is to offer true and lasting hope by sharing the Gospel with all who come to MARKINC for help, hope, and healing. Our desire is to help anchor a person’s hope in Jesus so that their faith in Him will bring not only healing from their pain, but also true restoration. We want to encourage and equip others about God’s trustworthiness and faithfulness, no matter how difficult the circumstances they are living with, through the variety of free resources we produce and distribute.
Though grateful to offer this support, we believed the need for Biblical counseling would offer the option for more personal one-on-one help. Not just counseling, but Biblical counseling, an approach that uses the Bible to address the multifaceted issues in the lives of individuals, couples, and families. The Bible teaches that we live in a broken world, and the destructive thoughts, motives, attitudes, words, confusion, and actions we may struggle with are not what God desires for those who are His Children. God wants us to experience fullness, joy, peace, and the promise of His presence to never leave us or forsake us, especially when life is hard.
Biblical counseling addresses these offensive human actions and reactions and offers the wisdom revealed in the Bible as the cure. Biblical counseling addresses matters of the heart that impact the whole person by examining life through the light of Christ and God's wisdom, as revealed in His authoritative word. It calls people to fix their eyes on Him by the power of the Holy Spirit, seeking transformation from the inside out. A key focus of Biblical counseling is to help others develop a worldview of life that is consistent with the sacred Word of God.
The goal of Biblical counseling is spiritual maturity and thus highly values the role of the local church in bringing about the heart change via authentic Christian community. True Biblical change is the result of the Holy Spirit working in one’s heart and often includes intervention by other people such as a pastor, a mentor or a counselor. The Biblical counselor helps people identify their problems in Biblical terms. As this is accomplished, the individual is challenged to seek the root issue and not merely apply band-aids to a spiritual cancer. This process is filled with grace and is ultimately redemptive. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the foundation for the work of Biblical counseling.
The Launch of Anchored Virtual
In 2018, MARKINC began researching what was involved in expanding to offer a Biblical counseling platform. After almost 25 years of offering help and hope to the hurting through the free resources produced by MARKINC, we wanted to do more.
After 2 years of praying, planning, and modifying the structure of what this would look like, God answered our prayers, and Anchored Virtual biblical counseling, a virtual platform, became a reality that launched in 2020.
Trusting that this was God’s timing for offering the help and hope of the Gospel to hurting people through one-on-one counseling, little did we know that…when the world would shut down from the COVID pandemic, forcing people all over the world to shelter in place, Anchored Virtual was ready to help. Now, hurting people could access biblical counseling from the privacy of their own homes, not just through 2020, but for as long as God wants to use this counseling service. Since its establishment, this counseling platform has grown from 5 counselors to over 50 counselors who pour themselves into the lives of thousands of people, helping to direct them from hopelessness to hopefulness. As a result of the phenomenal growth and the strong leadership of Anchored Virtual, in December 2023, the MARKINC board unanimously voted to establish Anchored Virtual as an independent 503c non-profit.
From depression, grief, terminal illness, domestic abuse, caregiving, sexual abuse, broken relationships, and more — those dark places that trap people in overwhelming depression, consumed with worry, anxiety, and hopelessness now can have hope! A hope that can anchor them in the storms of life they face and help them to experience peace and joy again.

Their mission is to provide trained, experienced, and kind biblical counseling while using the Bible as its source and authority. All of their counselors submit themselves to the rigorous certification process of the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors. This certification brings background checks, pastoral endorsements, standards of conduct, and doctrinal agreement.
